Self Interest

Self interest is an important part of society.  We each have specific needs, wants and desires not always  being realistic about it.
We go to school or/and get experience on the job and we become quite sure that what we are doing is the correct way and the only way.
I once held a position at a glass company which tried to do chemical tempering so as to strengthen the glass and alleviate the manufacture of a more expensive glass.
The problems were many:
1. Polluting
2. Corrosive to the treatment chamber.
3. Strengthened already strong items but did little to enhance the physical strength of weaker items.
4. Testing was done in a very unscientific manner.  Low value tests  were discarded while those that showed good results were kept.  Tests were often repeated until the proper test results were attained.
5. To impress the CEO, a test was arranged with pretested ware.
What happened
They all had a vested interest in seeing to the success of their program.  For everyone it was their job and their personal pride.
So to in medicine.  Do you think that the physicians, pharmaceutical companies and others do not have self interest in recommending drugs, vaccines and services that they  provide?   Results of testing are often hidden and misleading at best.
Physicians and pharmaceutical  companies have training but little experience with scientific procedure. They do however have a vested interest educationally, monetarily and status in the outcome of any testing that is performed.  Interpretation of  statistics is haphazard as based on improper testing techniques.   Over the last 30 to 40 years, autism, asthma and digestive disorders have skyrocketed.  This correlates very well with the following:
1.Multiplication of cell phone towers and cell phones.
2 Increased use of vaccines.
3. Emergence of genetically modified foods.
3. Increase in trade from China?
4.Increased use of pesticides.
5. Fluorides in water and toothpaste.
6. Others as they emerge.
The biggest experiment ever tried is now being performed on humanity.
Again!  There is an elephant in the parlour and it is not a Republican.!

to me
Dear Mr. Ringler:

Thank you for contacting me to relate your support for legislation that would require informed consent for vaccinations. I appreciate your interest in this issue and I understand your support for this legislation and informed consent as a way to educated those who might fear vaccinations based on misleading or anecdotal evidence.

The bill that you mention in your email, House Bill 2037, is not related to informed consent, but, rather, to the information that schools must provide to parents regarding exemptions to vaccination requirements for enrollment.

My colleague Senator Folmer has circulated a cosponsor memo for a bill that would require informed consent before a vaccine is administered. I have elected not to sign on to this bill as a cosponsor at this time, but I will continue to evaluate it. Vaccines are safe and important to ensuring that our population is not impacted by preventable diseases. Unfortunately, Pennsylvania’s vaccination rate is low. We should act to remedy that reality. Children should be vaccinated, though I believe that medical exemptions and religious exemptions should remain in place. In light of the increase that we have seen in recent years in disease that had been declared eliminated, like measles, we should evaluate our practice for vaccination. The role that informed consent could play in that process is something that I will have to consider and discuss. I look forward to the opportunity to consider legislation on this issue and I will keep your support in mind if any such bill should come before me for consideration.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me about this matter. Please feel free to contact me if I can assist you in any way.

Sincerely yours,
Senator Jay Costa, Jr.
